Eat, Drink, Relax… and Watch the World Go By

Pembrokeshire has some beautiful pubs, restaurants and cafes, many of which overlook stunning scenery such as the picturesque River Teifi. Look about in St Davids, Narberth, Newport, Fishguard... and our own Cardigan is a great place to start, with its wealth of quirky independent shops and charming cafes, and best of all it's less than 10 minutes from Trenewydd.

Head out and explore... some of our local favourites are below.

Ferry Inn

This is a great choice for a waterfront, rustic-chic pub and  restaurant with amazing views overlooking the River Teifi and surrounding countryside, in the nearby village of St Dogmaels.

The Ferry Inn is a great place to stop after a family walk, as it's 'dog and muddy boot' friendly.

Open all day, every day from 12pm.

The Nag's Head

This riverside gastro pub is just wonderful. It's near the Cenarth Falls and the Ffynone Waterfall, so it's easily combined with a lovely walk.

Sit outside and enjoy the riverside beer garden on a balmy summer's day, or head inside for the log fire on a cooler day.

Pizzatipi

Another great waterfront choice is this wildly popular, seasonal pizza restaurant offering a mouth-watering menu of stone baked, handmade pizzas. Check for opening times.

Complement your pizza, bread, appetisers and desserts with great coffee, welsh craft beers and wine in a riverside courtyard.

Fisherman's Rest

This is a charming and quirky choice for freshly prepared, local dishes - particularly if you are in the mood for fish.

Set on the River Teifi, it has great service, and great reviews, and a simple, no-fuss feel.

Relaxed and friendly, dogs are also welcome.

Teifi Waterside

Just a little further along from the Ferry Inn, this is a great choice for a good quality meal.

Plenty of seating outside, overlooking Poppit Sands and the estuary. Laid back, dog friendly, and the staff are wonderful. Well worth a stop during your holiday.

The Coach House

Nearby St Dogmaels Abbey has a lovely cafe to visit after a tour of the Abbey itself. Stop for a coffee, light lunch, or toasted teacakes - try home-made Homity Pie, a traditional Welsh dish. Or why not stay for afternoon tea?

On a nice day, enjoy sitting in the courtyard overlooking the Abbey grounds. Fully licenced, so try fine wines, local brewed beers or ciders.

The Cliff Hotel

Set magnificently on the cliff top looking out over the Teifi estuary, this is a gem of  place.

The view over the coastline is wonderful, and the food is very good - and reasonably priced, for such a great location.

The Copper Pot

In the centre of Cardigan high street, this is the perfect place to stop for lunch when you're spending the day in Cardigan town (easily done!)

Through the corridors and out the back is the secret garden, where your dog is welcome and you can sip a cool drink in the shade of a huge fig tree. Great food, friendly staff... this is an absolute gem, don't miss it!
